Computing Science & ICT
Computers and technology are increasingly at the heart of everyday life and as our pupils enter the Senior School, we develop their confidence in using technology efficiently and effectively in their education and life beyond the classroom.
Pupils in S1 and 2 gain a broad experience of technology to set them up for the future, whilst preparing them for subject choices in S3 and above.
Pupils gain robust experience with a range of software and are exposed to many topics which relate the world of technology and the world around us.

Pupils will cover a range of topics including Business Management, Computer Game Concept Design, History of Computing, Software & Hardware, Computer Systems, Networking, The Internet, Protocols & Binary.
E-Touch Typing
In an increasingly digital world, it is vital for pupils to develop their keyboard skills.
They enhance their touch typing ability using www.typing.com and work towards gaining an SQA qualification in E-Touch Typing which reflects their typing speed and accuracy using the correct fingering techniques.

We also actively encourage ICT pupils to enter the annual YGD BAFTA competition, where they generate a unique computer game idea and develop the concept.
This has proved very successful in the past with two BAFTA nominations for Lathallan pupils.
